Huis Collective is based in Portland, Oregon, and was founded in 2019 by Keri Beck and Amber Chang.
Keri started out in visual merchandising for J.Crew and The North Face, where she honed her ability to create compelling floor plans and thoughtfully styled spaces.
Amber’s background is in magazine editing; she previously worked at domino and Lonny, where she helped develop and edit the writing that tied together beautiful sets of photos.
Together, they share a deep appreciation for beautiful architecture, modern lighting, and limited throw pillows.
The Dutch connection: “huis” means “house” in Dutch. Amber spent two years living in Amsterdam, and Keri’s family has Dutch roots. The country’s simplicity, resourcefulness, and ways its residents so easily bring in modern conveniences to 400-year-old residences have shaped Huis Collective’s views on renovation and restoration.
