The client requested a cool, contemporary design with touches of comfort; clean lines and simplicity—and nothing vintage or aged. Specific inspirations included a Japanese hotel lobby and a street-art collector’s Miami home.
Our client had closed on a custom new-construction home but felt lost when it came to choosing fixtures and finishes. He enlisted us to help select materials based on what was available from the builder; then, once the home was constructed, we created design plans for the living room, kitchen, and primary bedroom.
The homeowner collects street art and will eventually fill the living space with his finds. But he wanted to start with a simple, timeless foundation, so we introduced sculptural forms in a pared-back palette.
In the kitchen, we prioritized finishes we believe will stand the test of time, while also tying the kitchen into the home’s overall color palette.
The focus on clean lines and simplicity continues upstairs, with lighting serving as sculpture.
